Carter Hafif

Hello there, my name is Carter and I am a landscape/portrait photographer based out of LA. Since I was a boy, I’ve been fascinated with computers. Playing video games, learning hardware, and manipulating software. This hobby led me to pursue a degree in computer science in my undergraduate career, under the impression that I was going to design video games. Little did I know, there was still much to uncover about who I was and my passions as a being. Realizing I didn’t want to code programs the rest of my life, I switched to a degree in Geologic and Environmental Sciences in order to assist in the fight against climate change.

While Photography doesn’t really fall under either of these categories, I believe it to be a harmonious marriage between the two. My passion for the environment, and knowledge of computers has allowed a unique perspective on how we interact with nature. My goal is to capture these beautiful, special moments so everyone can find an appreciation. A picture is worth a thousand words right? Imagery is an incredible way to share my perspective on the world, and inspire those who may not have the privilege, to immerse themselves and find respect for the land we all hold so dear. I’m also an avid backpacker which has allowed me to capture extremely remote and special locations most cannot. Want a custom photo specifically designed for your decor? Just give me the details and I’m happy to make it work!

Even though my real passion falls in the realm of landscape, I have learned to appreciate all aspects of photography. Capturing the subtle moments we exhibit in our day to day lives carries its own excitement. So, I have taken the time to expand and explore other realms. Specifically in action sports, portrait, food, and of course, the occasional engagement/wedding. If you are looking for more professional headshots, I am also happy to oblige!

Because of my background in computer science, I have been able to quickly learn and navigate the ins and outs of photo editing software, expanding my skills as a photographer immensely. And fun fact: I started on these programs before I even picked up a camera!

If you have any inquiries about photos you’d like done, please give me a contact and I’ll be happy to answer any questions you might have. Hope to hear from you soon!
